Develop
Skills

Investment in workforce training and skills development can be costly for employers, especially if they have to cover the cost of the course and give employees time off to attend courses and complete coursework.

Articulation
recognises prior learning, skills and qualifications already held by employees and can reduce the amount of time it takes employees to acquire new knowledge and skills at degree level, which would be of benefit to the employee and the company.

Previously gained qualifications and prior knowledge can be matched to the programme of study and credit awarded.  This enables employees to advance their knowledge and skills without having to repeat elements of a chosen course.  This process of mapping qualifications and awarding credit is made possible by the existence of the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF). Further information about the SCQF's work with employers is available from the SCQF website.
